ABOUT THE PROJECT
Plakari is a low, coastal hill about 2.5 km west of modern-day Karystos in southern Euboia. Since 2010 research at the site is carried out by the Plakari Archaeological Project, a joint effort of VU University Amsterdam and the 11th Ephorate of Prehistoric and Classical Antiquities for Euboia. Excavations have revealed remains of a cult place that flourished in the Early Iron Age and during the Classical period.
This website provides background information on the project, preliminary fieldwork reports, preliminary results of specialized studies, photos and videos etc.
